Short version

Dr. Teeranai Jirasirikul is a versatile and accomplished musician with a wide range of creative works as a pianist. His active roles include conductor, composer, music arranger, pianist, and collaborative pianist. He has performed with orchestras and wind ensembles and has been invited as a soloist for various events both in Thailand and internationally. Currently, Teeranai serves as the conductor, composer, and music arranger for the Thai Symphony Orchestra. He is also a professor in the Department of Piano at the Young Artist Music Program, College of Music, Mahidol University, where he teaches applied piano, performance literature, and small ensemble.

Dr.Teeranai Jirasirikul is a versatile and accomplished musician with a wide range of creative works as a pianist. His active roles include conductor, composer, music arranger, pianist, and collaborative pianist. He has performed with orchestras and wind ensembles and has been invited as a soloist for performances of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue at various events both in Thailand and internationally. Notable performances include the Yamaha Australian National Band Championships Festival in Hobart, Australia, and the Thailand International Jazz Conference 2018.

Teeranai has served as a judge for several prestigious competitions, including the Osaka International Music Competition, Sugree International Music Competition, Young Artist Music Contest, SET Youth Musician Competition, and Yamaha Thailand Music Festival.

Since 2020, Teeranai has been the conductor and composer for the Thai Symphony Orchestra. This past June, he conducted a performance at the Youth Music Talent Contest, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. This project aims to elevate Thai folk music to international standards and encourages young musicians to explore and appreciate folk music.

As a pianist, his accolades include the “Nocturne Prize” and “Mazurka Prize” from the 8th Bangkok Chopin Piano Competition. He received a scholarship to attend the Piano Plus Festival and Summer Piano Institute in Corfu, Greece. As a collaborative pianist, Teeranai has worked with the Mahidol University Choir (MU Choir) and has traveled extensively to perform and compete in countries such as Russia, Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Lithuania, China, Singapore, and Indonesia. He was awarded “The Best Pianist” prize at the “Kaunas Cantata” 6th International Choir Festival in Lithuania and “The Best Accompanist” prize at the XI Moscow International Children’s Youth Choir Festival “Moscow Sounds” in Russia.

Teeranai holds a Ph.D. in Western Music from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University. He is also a professor in the Department of Piano at the Young Artist Music Program, College of Music, Mahidol University, where he teaches applied piano, performance literature, and small ensemble.
